Volume Rebonding
Straight roots, bouncy endsCombines straightening at the roots with a light perm at the ends — creating frizz-free roots while maintaining bounce and body. Best for fine or limp hair that needs volume without going fully straight.
What to expect
The right formula for your hair — every time
At The Hive Salon, we use both Milbon and Shiseido for rebonding — not because of price, but because each formula works differently. Milbon is gentler and better suited for fine, coloured, permed, or previously rebonded hair. Shiseido handles thick or resistant curly hair more effectively. Your stylist selects the right one after assessing your hair at consultation.
We do not proceed with any rebonding treatment if your hair is not in a suitable condition. If you need a treatment first, we will tell you honestly — no pressure, no hard selling. Meet our stylists before you book.
Our Process
What happens at your rebonding appointment
Hair consultation
~15 minYour stylist assesses your hair condition, texture, and history — colour, perm, previous rebonding. This determines whether Milbon or Shiseido is the right formula for your hair.
Product selection
~5 minFor fine, coloured, permed, or previously rebonded hair we use Milbon. For thick or curly hair we use Shiseido. Both deliver the same result — the formula is selected for your hair, not your budget.
Cut & style
~30 minIncludes a complimentary cut and style to complete your look.
Application
30–45 minThe rebonding solution is applied section by section and left to process. Your stylist monitors throughout.
Straightening
20–30 minHair is straightened with a flat iron to lock in the new structure. For volume rebonding, the ends are wrapped for soft movement.
Neutralising
20–30 minA neutraliser is applied to seal the hair structure and lock in the result.
Wash & blow-dry
~20 minIncluded in every rebonding service.
Aftercare briefing
~5 minDo not wash for 48 hours. Avoid hair bands, clips, and ties. Your stylist walks you through the full aftercare routine before you leave.
Total: approx 3–4 hours for Soft Rebonding · 4–5 hours for Volume Rebonding
Aftercare
How to maintain your rebonding results
No washing for 48 hours
Do not wash your hair for 48 hours after your soft or volume rebonding treatment. Water disrupts the bonding process while it sets.
Avoid ties, clips and bands
Do not tie up your hair or use clips, bands, or pins immediately after treatment. Any pressure on the hair can leave marks while the bonds are still setting.
Use sulphate-free shampoo
Switch to a sulphate-free shampoo to preserve your results and extend the life of your rebonding. Sulphates strip the hair and break down treated bonds faster.
Avoid heat styling for 2 weeks
Give your hair time to fully set before using straighteners or curling tools. A lightweight leave-in conditioner helps maintain smoothness in the meantime.
Results last 6–12 months
With proper aftercare, rebonding results typically last 6–12 months. Singapore's humidity is a factor — consistent aftercare makes the biggest difference.
